Things people ask

The map is empty where I am. Swoop covers Brisbane for now, and a quiet map means nobody has reported anything nearby, not that nothing is there. If you are in Brisbane and know of a swooper, report it: tap "Report a Swoop", then Swoop, and it is on the map for everyone.

A report is wrong, or the bird has gone. Tap it and choose "Seems quiet" for a swooping bird, "Gone" for another animal or "Cleared" for a path hazard. Two people saying so takes it off the map. Every report also expires on its own.

I want a photo or a report taken down. Tap it and choose Flag; two flags hide it until a person looks. If it is urgent, or it is a photo of you or your home, email us and we will remove it within 24 hours.

How do I delete my data? Tap the person button beside the search field for My Log, then Settings, then Delete My Data. It removes your anonymous account, your photos, your votes and flags, and any report you sent in the last 15 minutes; an older report stays on the map until it expires, no longer linked to you. The app forgets its key and clears your log on the phone. If you have already deleted the app, email us with the approximate time and place of a report you made and we will do the same from our side. The privacy policy says exactly what goes.

The route went through a territory. Routes avoid what has been reported, and only the kinds you have switched on under Avoid. If a territory on the map was not avoided, tell us which route and when; if the bird was not on the map, report it.

Location, notifications, Health, microphone, motion: why? Nothing is asked for when the app first opens. Each is asked for when the app first needs it and explained on the spot: location when you show where you are, report from where you stand or start a walk, run, ride or Wander; notifications and Health when you start one, for the one alert when something reported is ahead and to save the session; microphone and motion only if you turn on "Listen for swoops"; the camera only when you take a photo for Swoop. None is required; the app works without each, with less to show.

Something is wrong. Tell us what you did, what you expected and what happened, which iPhone and which iOS version you are on, and roughly where in Brisbane you were. A screenshot helps. If you are on TestFlight, the feedback button there reaches us too, with the screenshot attached.
